Produce Delivered Limited (PDL) is a third-party logistics company that partners exclusively with HelloFresh, the leading global company in the meal kit market. This partnership was established in 2018.


HelloFresh is a publicly traded meal kit company based in Berlin, Germany. It is the largest meal-kit provider in the United States, and has operations in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Europe.


Through this partnership we pack fresh produce, dry goods, and other food products for consumers in a high demand, fast paced and chilled environment. We operate with four main departments: Ice Production, Production, Inventory, Quality Control, and a leadership team in the office. We are constantly expanding and growing.


Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role, located in Mt. Wellington, Auckland.


As the Food Safety and Quality Manager, your primary mission is to ensure the company's strict adherence to food safety guidelines and full compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. In this essential role, you will lead and the Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator and the dedicated Quality Control team, ensuring a seamless and robust process for delivering safe and high-quality food products to our customers.



There is also a discretionary performance related bonus of up to 10% on offer.


Responsibilities include:


Food Safety

Plan and complete process audits, and/ or product audits in line with service Level Agreements and customer protocols.
Coordinate with Management to establish controls and standards for food safety.
Implement and maintain all food safety related programs and standards for all operations.
Inspect products and equipment for conformity to applicable regulations and standards.
Coordinate and lead all third-party food safety audits.
Report results of all food safety audits and submit recommendations for corrective action to
management for approval as appropriate.
Conduct GMP and internal audits.
Ensure that all employees and managers have the required food safety training and are consistently working within food safety requirements.


Compliance

Monitor and ensure the company’s compliance with relevant legislations and codes of practice.
Identify, document, and report suggested corrective action for continuous compliance and improvement.
Maintain and manage documentation for external contractors for cleaning, waste management and pest control.
Control and maintain a robust document management system for PDL.
Lead and prepare for all FSQA related audits.


Quality Control and Health & Safety

Collate, analyse, and report on all out of specification products (both received and produced).
Provide commentary to relevant parties on quality trends, including solutions where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety (H&S) policy statement and associated responsibilities.

Ad Hoc

Manage and train the Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator and the Quality Control Team.
Provide a point of escalation for resolving quality related issues.
Closely work with HelloFresh FSQA Manager in implementing HelloFresh global policies and procedures.
Manage a program of continuous improvement and safety culture.
Utilise your strong interpersonal skills for effective and respectful communication at all levels.
Make ongoing contributions to systems development and quality improvement.
Audit and inspect all operations as required and whenever appropriate.
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the management.
Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety, Quality, Costs and Delivery, while growing and expanding capabilities to meet requirements.


Qualifications

Degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.
Ongoing professional and personal development.


Experience & Skills Required

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
Experience in managing an operational team.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP and BRC.
Experience in food safety and quality management systems, including audit preparation and execution, and training development and delivery.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
