About The Role
We are looking for 2 experienced Carpenters to join the McConnell Dowell family to work within our project team at Queenstown.
The Carpenter is responsible for setting out all building works, basic survey, carpentry works, placing reinforcing, roofing and all other works as directed by the Working Supervisor.
Closely liaise with the Working Supervisor regarding the procurement requirements of the project; ensuring adequate time is given to procure materials;
Ensure that construction materials are stored in a safe and secure manner.
Organise, coordinate and direct construction activities in accordance with work schedules and specifications;
Ensure that all equipment, material and people resources are effectively utilized in accordance with the construction program so that construction activities are completed on time and within budget;
What you'll need
Trades qualification relevant to the construction industry;
Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementing of same;
Strong and proven ability to lead, direct and manage groups of diverse employees;
Exceptional vigour and energy accompanied by good oral and written communication skills;
Experience in all aspects of building construction including:
- Basic survey set out
- Excavating, footings
- Reinforcing placing
- Concrete placing and finishing
- Blockwork, masonry construction
- Formwork
- Carpentry
- Roofing
- Security fencing
- Ability to read and understand architectural & structural drawings and specifications.
